Tom Holland’s Black Widow Manifestation Might Come to Life in Spider-Man 4

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been thrilled by the recent buzz about Florence Pugh potentially joining me in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, it seems I may have dropped a hint about this collaboration a while back during interviews for No Way Home. A rediscovered clip from that time reveals my expressed desire to share the screen with the talented Florence Pugh within the MCU.

Tom Holland’s old video hints a Spider-Man 4 Black Widow cameo was planned long ago

Before Spider-Man: No Way Home was released in 2021, Tom Holland spoke with Entertainment Tonight and expressed his hope to act alongside Florence Pugh’s character, Black Widow, on screen at some point in the future.

In a video shared by Spider-Man News on its platform (previously Twitter), the star of Uncharted expressed his desire to collaborate with Florence Pugh. He finds her incredibly talented, particularly in that film and all others she’s been in. He considers her fantastic, and he thinks a unique spin-off featuring Spider-Man and Black Widow could be both exciting and fun.

Stoking even more fan excitement, Pugh expressed her desire to act alongside Spider-Man during a 2023 interview with BuzzFeed. The 29-year-old actress stated, “I’ve been eager to meet Tom [Holland] for quite some time now.” (paraphrased from Best of Pugh)

It’s being speculated that the desired scenario for the two characters could materialize in Spider-Man 4. Reportedly, Florence Pugh’s character, Yelena Belova, is said to be part of the movie’s ensemble.

Should the rumors prove accurate, Pugh will be part of an illustrious ensemble cast for Brand New Day, alongside Holland, Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, Zendaya, Michael Mando, Sadie Sink, and more recently, Tramell Tillman, among several others. The anticipated movie is slated to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
