House Of The Dragon Season 3 Gets New Premiere Date Ahead Of HBO Release

House of the Dragon season 3 has confirmed a new premiere date ahead of its release on HBO.

As the highly anticipated prequel to Game of Thrones nears its return, House of the Dragon season 3 has a confirmed release date. This season will finally launch the full-scale war, known as the Dance of the Dragons, which the previous two seasons have been leading up to. The conflict between Rhaenyra and Alicent will continue after Aegon flees King’s Landing, guaranteeing a bloody and intense season. House of the Dragon season 3 will premiere on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

According to Variety, the first episode of House of the Dragon season 3 will have its initial showing at the Taormina Film Festival in Italy before it airs on TV. The festival runs from June 10th to 14th, meaning attendees will be able to watch the premiere 11 days before it becomes available on HBO and HBO Max. Stars Steve Toussaint, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, and Phoebe Campbell are also expected to attend.

The second season of House of the Dragon concluded with the looming Targaryen civil war becoming a certainty, as various houses across Westeros choose sides – supporting either the Greens or the Blacks. In the finale, Daemon Targaryen firmly pledged his loyalty to Rhaenyra, offering her his army. Meanwhile, Rhaenyra made an agreement with Alicent regarding Aegon, who secretly left King’s Landing with Larys.

After a second season focused on setup, season 3 of the show promises to be packed with action and the consequences of war. The groundwork laid in previous episodes will finally pay off with major battles and dramatic events. While some felt season 2 was slow, the upcoming season is designed to deliver the spectacle and tragedy viewers have been anticipating.
