Wow, X-Men ’97 was amazing! It feels like it’s been ages since the show first premiered on Disney+ back in March 2024, and it really made a splash. Now, we finally have a date for Season 2, which promises even more excitement!
Fans have been expecting Season 2 of X-Men ’97 to arrive in Summer 2026 for a while. With summer quickly approaching, many were starting to wonder when Disney+ would finally announce a more specific release date for the highly anticipated show.
Marvel and Disney announced that Season 2 will premiere on July 1st, during the Independence Day weekend, which is great news for everyone involved.
They revealed the news with the release of a complete trailer – not just a short teaser! – which is quickly spreading and gaining huge popularity across all social media.
Marvel’s X-Men ’97 Trailer Instantly Goes Viral, For Good Reason
The trailer begins with Rogue sharing her grief with Nightcrawler, still deeply saddened by Gambit’s death in Season 1 of X-Men ’97 – a truly heartbreaking moment, especially considering the later revelations about Rogue and Magneto.
From that point on, the story really takes off, offering a preview of the mystery facing the X-Men as they try to understand why they’re being scattered across time. There’s a lot to analyze, and I’ll be covering it in detail soon, but it’s important to highlight how well Marvel has been managing the X-Men recently.
, and the animated X-Men series that dominated the 1990s two years ago, is a stroke of genius.
Will There Be a Season 3 of X-Men ’97?
The show has been a huge success with critics and audiences alike, earning a 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and a 91% approval rating from viewers. This overwhelmingly positive response has led to it being renewed for a second season, and is generating a lot of excitement.
Absolutely! We can expect it in October 2025, several months before the second season arrives. This keeps Marvel Studios’ head of streaming, television, and animation, Brad Winderbaum, true to his word – the Disney+ series is planned to continue for quite a while.
As a huge animation fan, and after absolutely loving the first season of X-Men ’97 – plus getting a glimpse of what’s coming in season two – I’m seriously hoping Marvel doesn’t make us wait another twenty years for more episodes! It’s that good, and we deserve it.
