I’m excited to share some great news for all the Solo Leveling fans! After winning at the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, they’ve just announced the anime is coming back – it’s time for us to get ready!
Following the conclusion of Solo Leveling Season 2 on May 24th, the official Solo Leveling account on X expressed gratitude to fans for their support and hinted at more to come, stating, “Please look forward to future Solo Leveling!” This is the first official confirmation that the anime will continue beyond Season 2, which finished airing over a year ago.
It’s still unclear if the recent announcement points to a third season of Solo Leveling or the movie that’s been talked about, but the timing of the news is definitely significant.
Solo Leveling Has Announced the Anime’s Return Exactly When Aniplex Said They Would
The recent confirmation about a future for the Solo Leveling anime is significant, particularly considering all the other subtle clues fans have been discovering about its potential return.
Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini recently shared an update on Season 3 of Solo Leveling before the Crunchyroll Awards. He said that Crunchyroll is eager for news about the next season, just like the fans, and that the creators are currently working on it, with an announcement potentially coming soon.
Just a few weeks ago, Atsushi Kaneko, the producer of Solo Leveling, said (through a translator) that the show’s lead actor is dedicated and working hard to meet fans’ expectations, but asked for a little patience.
Talk about whether Solo Leveling will get another season is really picking up, and the timing is ideal. Shortly after Season 2 finished airing, Aniplex producer Sota Furuhashi jokingly said at an event that a decision on Season 3 wouldn’t come until after the next Olympic Games.
Just a couple of months after the Winter Olympics concluded, it seems Furuhashi’s prediction about the anime Solo Leveling was accurate. The official announcement of its return has finally been made, though some details are still forthcoming. At a recent event, Furuhashi explained that the final decision regarding Solo Leveling‘s comeback rests with Kaneko and the animation studio, A-1 Pictures.
Solo Leveling Might Have More Than Just a Season 3 in the Works
With Kaneko attending conventions and hinting at upcoming news, the next anime arcs of Solo Leveling seem closer than ever – possibly arriving soon. Although there’s no official word on Season 3 yet, rumors and leaks suggest a Solo Leveling movie might be in development.
A recent financial report from D&C Media, the publisher of Solo Leveling, suggests a movie adaptation will be released in 2026. Many fans believe this movie is why A-1 Pictures hasn’t officially announced Season 3 of the anime, as the film is likely being prioritized.
I noticed that the official statement from the Solo Leveling team didn’t say anything about a third season, which makes me think those rumors about a movie might actually be true.
The next installment, whether it’s a movie or a complete anime season, will adapt some of the most eagerly awaited story arcs from the series. As Sung Jinwoo declared to his Shadow Army at the end of Season 2, it’s time to move on to the next challenge.
Solo Leveling Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
