With the new season of Prison Break now in production, a key character has been recast.
A fresh take on the popular crime thriller started development late in 2023. Elgin James, known for his work on Mayans M.C., is writing and leading the new series, which will feature entirely new characters. The show, officially greenlit in October 2025, has already assembled a talented cast including Emily Browning (American Gods), Lukas Gage (Smile 2), and JR Bourne (Mayans M.C.). Margo Martindale (Justified) and Lili Taylor (The Conjuring) are also set to appear as guest stars, along with other notable actors.
Hulu has cast Kelli Berglund, known for her role in Animal Kingdom, as a series regular in the upcoming new installment of Prison Break, as first reported by Deadline. She will play Cheyenne, a dangerous inmate in what’s described as “one of the deadliest prisons in America.” Berglund replaces Priscilla Delgado, who originally played the part in the pilot episode.
