Jamie Dornan is incredibly versatile. He easily transitions between different roles, whether it’s modeling for high-end brands or acting, as seen in his work as the Hunter on the show Once Upon A Time.
The actor became hugely famous for his role as Christian Grey, a complex billionaire who falls in love with college student Anastasia Steele. Their relationship is passionate and includes elements of BDSM, and the story continued in two sequels: Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. If you want to watch all three Fifty Shades movies – which have earned a total of $1.32 billion worldwide – you’ll need to do so quickly, as they’re being removed from Netflix on June 1st.
Fifty Shades Of Grey Brought Sex Into The Mainstream
The film deserves recognition for its source material. By portraying Christian’s complex sexuality and difficult history, it sparked important discussions about personal boundaries, desires, and how we approach intimate topics.
The previously secretive plot unfolded on screen, and Jamie Dornan perfectly captured Christian’s complex mix of distance and sensitivity. It was a difficult role, dealing with a sensitive topic, but Dornan and Dakota Johnson had incredible on-screen chemistry – their scenes together were captivating and hard to look away from.
Throughout the three books, Ana and Christian’s relationship evolved from a first meeting to a passionate love, with challenges and separations along the way. Ultimately, they married and worked together to overcome threats from outside forces.
Even though the Fifty Shades of Grey movies received a lot of criticism and varied opinions, they were a huge financial success. Released between 2015 and 2018, the series earned $1.32 billion globally on a production budget of only $150 million.
Jamie Dornan Is Returning To His Fantasy Roots
Although Christian Grey made Jamie Dornan famous, the actor has since taken on more significant roles. He’s now returning to the fantasy genre with a part in the highly anticipated Lord of the Rings franchise.
The new film, directed by Andy Serkis – who famously played Gollum and will do so again here – is produced by Peter Jackson. It’s set between the events of The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring, following Aragorn’s perilous quest to find Gollum and the One Ring.
Jamie Dornan will star as Aragorn, a role famously played by Viggo Mortensen in The Lord of the Rings films.
You can watch Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades Freed on Netflix, but they will be removed on June 1st.
