Ted Lasso Star Swears He Wasn’t Just Hanging Around Richmond To ‘Try And Get Spotted.’ Why He Was There ALL The Time

Enthusiastic about Ted Lasso’s upcoming Season 4, I can hardly wait! Although the complete roster of actors hasn’t been announced yet, I eagerly anticipate (hopefully) the return of my beloved characters on-screen and their continuation in Richmond. The setting of Ted Lasso was just as significant as any character, especially for one of the stars.

Nick Mohammed, the actor known for portraying Nate in the first three seasons, discussed Ted Lasso Season 4 on BBC Radio. He revealed that he and his family resided in Richmond until recently but decided to move due to the increasing attention as a Ted Lasso star becoming too overwhelming in that location. Mohammed mentioned:

“Living in Richmond while being a key cast member of Ted Lasso was starting to feel quite intense, so we’ve decided to relocate.

Yeah, so, we’ve moved slightly out of Richmond. Not too far, but slightly out of Richmond now.

It appears that Nick Mohammed and his family resided in Richmond for quite some time before his prominent role on a show set there. It seems his familiarity with the city may have contributed to him being often recognized, a circumstance he humorously suggests might have given the impression he was trying to seek recognition. However, the real reason was more straightforward: Richmond was where he lived. He further explained.

We actually resided in that town prior to Ted Lasso’s arrival. My wife and I relocated there back in 2014, settling into a small apartment. We had already started a family by then, so a move was inevitable at some point. However, it seemed like I was lingering around Richmond with the intention of being discovered, but we simply lived there.

In the upcoming season of “Ted Lasso,” Ted is set to guide a women’s soccer team, which, according to reports, remains stationed in Richmond. Although parts of the new season will be filmed in the United States, the majority of filming will take place in and around London.

It’s quite surprising that Nick Mohammed, who resides near Richmond, might not be back for Season 4 of Ted Lasso, given how close he lives to the production location. Even if he has scheduling issues, it seems odd that he wouldn’t be able to accommodate his schedule considering the proximity of the show’s filming to his home.

Despite Nick Mohammed’s apparent significance on the show “Ted Lasso,” speculation surrounds his potential return for Season 4, as he himself has expressed uncertainty about rejoining the cast. This comes at an unusual time, given that production was set to begin shortly.

Nate’s absence doesn’t necessarily imply he won’t show up. There could be story-related reasons behind his hidden return. It’s also plausible that he might not be a recurring character in the new season, instead having a smaller role. As such, discussions about the primary cast may not involve him yet.

I’m really looking forward to seeing a lot of Nate and Richmond when the next season of Ted Lasso comes out. There’s a chance that Nate might not be part of the show, with Nick Mohammed only appearing in minor roles. Given that he resides in Richmond, this is a possibility.
