Warning: SPOILERS are ahead for the Outlander: Blood of My Blood double premiere!
During the continuation of our wait for the arrival of Outlander Season 8 (the final season), fans can indulge in something delightful right now – the spinoff titled Outlander: Blood of My Blood. This new series, a prequel focusing on the love stories of Claire and Jamie’s parents, made its debut with a double episode not too long ago. Remarkably, it has strengthened several elements that have produced some of the most memorable episodes in Outlander.
Exploring the Past: A Glimpse at Young Murtagh and More!
In the captivating episode titled “Blood of My Blood,” we were treated to a heartwarming revisit of younger versions of our cherished character, Murtagh, along with other characters we thought had vanished. This outing also brought about some unexpected twists, one of which was making the time-travel aspect in Outlander more intricate. I have a feeling that this complexity will pave the way for something extraordinary in Season 8! Let’s delve into what unfolded and what it could possibly signify!
Claire’s Parents Didn’t Die When She Was A Kid!
Upon the unveiling of the trailer for “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” several weeks prior to its premiere on the 2025 TV lineup, myself and numerous enthusiasts were taken aback by what we beheld. Although we anticipated an abundance of romance and turmoil (owing to the intertwining eras of WWI-era England and the feuding clans in early 18th-century Scotland), we were unaware that Claire’s parents, Julia and Henry Beauchamp, would journey through time!
In the initial segment of the premiere titled “Providence,” the married couple found themselves involved in a car accident – an incident that Claire had been led to believe resulted in their demise. However, fate had other plans as they miraculously survived this fateful event. Soon afterward, they stumbled upon the mysterious stone circle at Craigh na Dun and were inexplicably transported back through time to the 1700s… a journey similar to the one Claire would embark on many years later!
Given that little Claire (aged just five at the time) and her family believed her parents had perished after their car was washed away by the tide during an accident, it implies that we can expect two potential surprises when the eighth and concluding season of Outlander airs in 2026.

Julia And Henry Probably Lived Out Their Lives In 1700s Scotland
In the second episode of OBOMB, titled “S.W.A.K.,” not only did we delve into the story of how Julia and Henry became a couple, but also the events that unfolded after they separately passed through the stones. Tragically, Julia was discovered, sold, and eventually found employment in Lord Lovat’s kitchen. On the other hand, Henry commenced his search for Julia, having received her message at the stones as a guide to her whereabouts.
It might take some time, but it seems probable that these two characters will reunite eventually. However, something may prevent them from returning to the standing stones and going back home permanently. This clue points towards another significant detail that drastically impacts the Outlander‘s timeline, potentially shaping the final episodes in a remarkable way.

Fanny Is Likely Related To Claire, But Not How Claire Thinks
Towards the end of the first episode of OBOMB, a significant disclosure emerges: The Beauchamp family is on holiday in Scotland, with young Claire being looked after by Henry’s brother, while they are anticipating the birth of another child. This implies that Julia was sent back in time during her pregnancy, and if we consider she can successfully deliver and the baby survives for a reasonable amount of time… it’s easy to predict where this might lead.
In the final episode of Season 7, Claire and Jamie welcomed young Fanny into their home after her older sister passed away. Her mother had previously passed as well, but it’s through this late woman that Fanny learned a 20th-century tune which Claire recognized. Claire now suspects that Fanny might be Faith’s child, as she sang the same song to Faith just moments before her death.
It’s possible that Julia and Henry called their second child Faith, just like they did with Claire, and sang the same song to her as well. This is why Fanny recognizes the song. As a result, instead of Fanny being Claire’s granddaughter, she might actually be her niece.
Indeed! If Claire’s parents had not left the past, one wonders if they could have survived and possibly reconnected with Claire in some way?! It’s clear that my expectations are quite optimistic for both Season 1 of “Blood of My Blood” and Season 8 of “Outlander.” I eagerly await to see whether my theories prove accurate!
