ScreenRant is offering a special early showing of the new Lionsgate biopic, Michael, which tells the life story of Michael Jackson. The film traces Jackson’s journey from his days with the Jackson Five as a child to his incredible success as a world-renowned singer and dancer. Jaafar Jackson, nephew of the pop star, plays Michael, and the movie also features Colman Domingo as his father, Joe Jackson, Nia Long as his mother, Katherine Jackson, Miles Teller, and Laura Harrier in supporting roles.
Antoine Fuqua, the director of Michael, is well-known for his work on action movies like Training Day and the Equalizer series, as well as documentaries about Muhammad Ali and the L.A. Lakers. He’s also directed music videos for artists such as Toni Braxton, Prince, and Stevie Wonder. This background in music will be particularly useful in Michael, which features a soundtrack full of iconic songs like “I’ll Be There,” “I Want You Back,” “Beat It,” and “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.”
