Good news for fans of Mr. & Mrs. Smith on Prime Video: Season 2 is officially happening! However, Donald Glover and Maya Erskine won’t be returning as the leads. A brand new pair of actors will be playing Mr. and Mrs. Smith this time around.
After a significant hold-up, filming for Season 2 of Mr. & Mrs. Smith has officially begun. There have also been changes to the main cast: Talia Ryder (known for Dumb Money) will now play Mrs. Smith, taking over from the previously announced Sophie Thatcher. Mark Eydelshteyn (Anora) will star as Mr. Smith, replacing Glover in the role.
The show Mr. & Mrs. Smith is changing its format. Instead of continuing the story from season one, it will now feature different cases and characters each episode. It’s unclear if Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, who starred in the first season, will return in any capacity, as details about the new season are being kept secret. The first season, based on the 2005 Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie movie, followed two spies – known as John and Jane Smith – who pretended to be a married couple while completing missions.
