A major character returns as Homelander continues to spiral in the new trailer for The Boys.
The hit show The Boys is back, and it’s already making a big impact – with potentially deadly consequences for some characters. Prime Video’s darkly funny look at superheroes has become a global phenomenon. Season 5 is receiving rave reviews, boasting a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and viewers are eager to see what happens next with these complex, often unlikeable heroes.
The fifth and final season of The Boys kicked off last week with a thrilling two-part premiere. A-Train met a tragic end at the hands of Homelander, while Hughie, MM, and Frenchie managed to escape from a prison camp with help from Butcher, Starlight, and Kimiko. Meanwhile, Butcher began implementing his plan to use a virus that could eliminate Homelander and all other Supes, and Soldier Boy unexpectedly reappeared.

The new trailer hints at V’s backstory and the return of Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito), who’s determined to help the team finally defeat Homelander. But Homelander’s ominous warning – “a reckoning is coming” – suggests he’s prepared to fight back with everything he has.
