From April 13th to 19th, 2026, Amazon Prime Video will release a 2025 science fiction action movie starring three actors known from Marvel films.
Edgar Wright’s new film, The Running Man, based on the 1982 Stephen King novel, will be available on the streaming service starting April 17th. This is the second time the story has been adapted for the screen, following the 1987 movie.
The story centers around “The Running Man,” a popular but deadly TV show where contestants try to survive for 30 days while being hunted by professional killers. Ben Richards joins the competition hoping to win money to help his sick daughter. Unexpectedly, Ben becomes a crowd favorite, causing the show’s ratings to soar.
The movie received generally mixed reactions from critics and wasn’t a commercial success, earning only $69.5 million globally despite costing $110 million to make. It features Glen Powell, along with three actors known for their roles in Marvel films: Josh Brolin, Coleman Domingo, and Lee Pace.
The biographical film Sarah’s Oil will also be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Set in the early 1900s, the movie tells the story of Sarah Bector, a woman who believes her seemingly worthless land in Indian Territory holds oil. She fights to protect it, eventually becoming a successful millionaire.
Prime Video will also be streaming the Korean drama Absolute Value of Romance. The show centers around a typical student who secretly writes boys’ love stories featuring her attractive teachers, and how those fictional worlds begin to overlap with her actual life.
