Fresh snapshots unveil the reappearance of a well-loved Easter egg from Insomniac’s Spider-Man PlayStation series in the upcoming title, Spider-Man: A Fresh Start. The popular video game rendition of Marvel’s acclaimed web-slinger has significantly impacted the Spider-Man movies by Marvel Studios and vice versa. This symbiotic relationship is perhaps best demonstrated through the distinctive quote etched on Aunt May’s tombstone, as depicted at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was directly lifted from the Spider-Man games.
A sneak peek taken on the set of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” shows that the popular Easter egg from the “Aunt May” level in the “Spider-Man” video game, which was featured in “No Way Home,” will be returning for the upcoming movie. This is noteworthy as it suggests that the connections between the new projects could run even deeper in Tom Holland’s fourth Spiderman adventure.
The images posted by TikTok user JustBuzz, originating from the Brand New Day production, depict Spider-Man – Holland’s wall-crawling character – in a cemetery alongside his on-screen fiancée, who appears to be his real-life partner.
Yet, there’s a specific frame that reveals Aunt May’s gravemarker, inscribed with the quote “‘Helping one is like helping all’;” etched upon it.
The following quote originates from the video game series by Insomniac Games titled Spider-Man, making its debut on a representation of May’s grave within their initial web-based adventure.

The slogan that belonged to May found its way into films, specifically in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. At the movie’s conclusion, it was displayed on May’s tombstone after the beloved Marvel Cinematic Universe character portrayed by Marissa Tomei met her end.

The recently leaked images suggest that the hidden reference to PlayStation’s Spider-Man will also be present in the upcoming Spiderman film.
The “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” production persists in Glasgow, Scotland, with director Destin Daniel Cretton (known for “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) overseeing the proceedings. Following the conclusion of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is adjusting to life post-high school as he navigates the challenges of being a young adult in New York City, all while maintaining his secret identity as the city’s crime-fighting vigilante.
Could Brand New Day Take More From the Spider-Man Video Games?

The bond between the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man movies and Insomniac’s PlayStation games has become more interconnected with each new release, as hinted by subtle Easter eggs or the inclusion of movie costumes in the upcoming Spider-Man game.
Yet, Brand New Day might establish a unique association with the game that deviates from the usual connections fans have experienced with Holland’s Spider-Man.
One could note that the innovative “Brand New Day” suit, hailed as the top Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Spider-Man costume by TopMob, appears to be influenced by traditional Spidey outfits, with echoes of the classic suits seen in various Spider-Man video games.
It’s been speculated that several villains from the Spider-Man games could make an appearance in the fourth Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man film. Possible contenders include Scorpion, Tombstone, and Mr. Negative.
As a movie buff, I must admit that Tom Holland’s portrayal of Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems strikingly similar to Yuri Lowenthal’s character from the video games, at least from an acting standpoint. It feels like they’ve captured the essence of a younger version of Lowenthal’s character on the big screen.
It’s quite possible that the link between these two Spider-Man worlds is strong, leading us to expect further collaboration between the movie series, much like a relay race where one franchise hands off the role to another.
