The season really focused on Dr. Mohan and the difficulties she faced as a resident, especially as she tried to manage her personal life and a strained relationship with her mother. She had a tough moment when Dr. Robby challenged her after a panic attack during a patient’s treatment, but they’ve since resolved their differences.

Mohan is currently a central figure in Season 2 of The Pitt, but Variety reports that actress Supriya Ganesh will leave the HBO Max medical drama during Season 3. The departure is described as a creative decision based on the storyline. While the exact reason for her character’s exit hasn’t been revealed, Episode 12 of Season 2 may have hinted at why the senior resident will be leaving Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center (PTMC).

In Season 2, Episode 12, Dr. Robby suggested that Mohan consider a rotation in geriatrics. This could be the primary reason she leaves her assignment at The Pitt.

Samira Mohan explained they weren’t sure what was causing the issue, but fortunately, none of the patient’s medications were essential for immediate health. Geriatrics is the branch of medicine dedicated to the care of elderly patients, and Mohan has consistently demonstrated her skill in this area during her two seasons on The Pitt.

Transferring geriatric care away from the busy Emergency Department would be a better fit for Mohan, allowing her to fully utilize her careful and thorough approach to listening to and examining patients’ concerns.

In the season 2 finale of The Pitt, it was revealed that Mohan is now searching for a different fellowship opportunity. This came after she destroyed her original application for an ultrasound fellowship, a decision influenced by her encounter with the new night shift doctor, Dr. Henderson.
