HBO is already building excitement for its upcoming Harry Potter TV series, which is set to premiere in over six months and is expected to be one of their biggest shows in years. This weekend, they’ll be streaming Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the series, including how they found the new actors to play the iconic characters.
(Spoiler alert: HBO chose Dominic McLaughlin to play Harry Potter.)
The trailer includes behind-the-scenes clips from the making of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (the show’s title, taken from the original English title of the first Harry Potter book), as well as appearances by cast members like Janet McTeer (playing Professor McGonagall) and Paapa Essiedu (playing Professor Snape). It also features interviews with the actors and crew.

A new behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Harry Potter films, titled Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic, will be available to stream on HBO Max beginning April 5th. And, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone will premiere on both HBO and HBO Max during the 2026 Christmas season.
