After the significant acclaim and financial success of Superman, Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav has given an intriguing but somewhat ambiguous sneak peek into the possible plot for Superman 2. So far, the DC Universe film featuring David Corenswet has amassed a global box office total of more than $559 million.
What is the new Superman 2 update?
During a recent earnings discussion, Zaslav made it clear that James Gunn will resume his role as director and writer for the upcoming film in the Superhero universe, hinting that it could potentially be a new Superman movie, although specific details remain vague. It’s yet to be decided whether this sequel will focus solely on Superman or if another prominent DC character may join him on screen.
Previously, Corenswet had disclosed that he was already under contract to re-appear as Superman in a potential sequel. During the promotional tour for the film, Gunn also hinted at his plans following the release of Superman, stating that he would be occupied with “press for ‘Peacemaker’ and working on the sequel script!
