Be warned, this article reveals major plot details from Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 3! The new season of Daredevil is getting more intense, and Matt Murdock is crossing paths with other heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Most recently, he’s teamed up with a character introduced during Phase 4 of the MCU. As many fans know, Charlie Cox reprised his role as Daredevil with a brief appearance in the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he first met Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland.
Neither character was dressed as Daredevil or Spider-Man at the time. Fortunately, Daredevil later appeared in several Marvel TV shows, which eventually led to Daredevil: Born Again. This allowed him to meet characters like She-Hulk and Echo. Now, the fantastic second season of Daredevil: Born Again features Cox’s character teaming up with a lesser-known, but talented, Marvel hero.
Daredevil: Born Again Delivers Another MCU Team-Up
In the third episode of Daredevil: Born Again (released alongside episode two), Daredevil rescues people Wilson Fisk held captive in Red Hook. Among those freed was Jack Duquesne, played by Tony Dalton, who is also the hero known as Swordsman. Swordsman, who first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase 4’s Hawkeye, later assisted Daredevil in his fight against the Anti-Vigilante Task Force.
Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is a significant step up from the first season, and this is especially true when it comes to the action sequences. The fight between Daredevil and Swordsman was particularly exciting, with a great mix of brutal strikes from Daredevil and Swordsman’s more precise attacks, creating a visually dynamic and varied battle.
What Other MCU Heroes Does Daredevil Need To Team Up With?
Seeing Daredevil and Swordsman team up in season 2 of Born Again was a highlight, but fans have long hoped to see Daredevil join forces with other major Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Daredevil will be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day; Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will appear instead. A team-up between Daredevil and Spider-Man would be amazing, and could even provide a definitive ending to the Kingpin’s story in the MCU.
When considering potential allies for Daredevil in future Marvel films, two original Avengers stand out as great choices. Given their shared sense of justice, it would be compelling to see Captain America, played by Chris Evans and returning in Avengers: Doomsday, team up with Daredevil. Another possibility is Black Widow, portrayed by Scarlett Johansson, considering their romantic connection in the comics.
Bringing Natasha Romanoff back would probably require a flashback or a multiverse storyline. However, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova could easily fill that role alongside Daredevil. Also, considering Matt Murdock’s established connections to both Ms. Marvel’s father in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again and Swordsman, Kate Bishop’s stepfather, in season two, those younger heroes – Ms. Marvel and Kate Bishop – could create a compelling contrast with the more experienced Daredevil.
