I’m so excited! It’s been three years since the last Bond film, and now Amazon is rebooting the series, but even better, they’ve already announced the next one! We don’t know much about James Bond 26 yet, except that Denis Villeneuve – the director of Dune – will be directing, and Steven Knight, who created Peaky Blinders, is writing the script. Thankfully, we do have some details about the upcoming 007 novel, including what it’s about and when we can expect it!
Charlie Higson, the author known for the “Young Bond” series and the popular 2023 novella “On His Majesty’s Secret Service,” will write the next adult James Bond novel. Ian Fleming Publications has asked him to continue the series with a book titled “King Zero,” which is scheduled to be released in September 2026. Higson says he’s thrilled and considers it a special opportunity to create a new adventure for the iconic 007.

Although it’s just a book and not a new movie, the latest James Bond novel is exciting because it returns Bond to the Middle East, features government traitors, and introduces a formidable new villain. This could hint at what we might see in the next James Bond film when it’s finally released.
Amazon MGM Studios now owns the James Bond franchise and will be leading the creative process for the next film, following the departure of longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson last year. Several actors are currently considered frontrunners for the role of Bond, including Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, and Harris Dickinson.
