15 Biggest Easter Eggs & References In Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Episodes 2-3

Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episodes 2-3

The latest two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again are packed with fun references for longtime fans! They include hidden details, nods to past storylines, and connections to both the original comics and the earlier Marvel shows on Netflix.

The first episode of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 started the main conflict between Mayor Fisk’s task force, which is against vigilantes, and Daredevil’s group fighting back. Things really escalate in the following episodes. Here’s a rundown of all the hidden details, references, and nods we spotted in episodes 2 and 3 of Daredevil: Born Again season 2.

15. Clinton Church

One of the most meaningful returning locations from the Netflix era is Clinton Church.

In season 2, episode 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, Ben Poindexter, also known as Bullseye, first appears at Clinton Church. Later, in season 3 of Netflix’s Daredevil, he kills Father Lantam there. This church is also significant because it’s where Matt Murdock grew up after his father died, and it features prominently throughout the original three seasons of the Netflix series.

14. Sister Maggie

When Poindexter inquires about Sister Maggie, we learn she’s currently taking a break in Rome. She’s Matt Murdock’s mother, and he reconnected with her in season 3 of Daredevil, where she helped him heal after the events of The Defenders. Although she isn’t appearing this season, many fans are wondering if Sister Maggie might return in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again season.

13. Bullseye Gets The Blue Light

Bullseye’s scenes in Daredevil: Born Again continue to stand out visually, much like they did in season one. They’re often bathed in blue light—noticeable in the Clinton Church scene and throughout recent episodes. This is a striking stylistic choice, especially because scenes featuring Matt Murdock are consistently highlighted with red.

12. Cole North Returns To The AVTF

I was so excited to see Cole North back in the latest Daredevil: Born Again episode! After almost being killed in season one when he went up against Daredevil and the Punisher, he’s really pushing to get back on the AVTF team. It’s great to see him trying to redeem himself and get back in the action.

In the comics, North initially worked with Mayor Fisk to fight crime-fighters, but later changed sides and became a key ally of Daredevil. Whether this same transformation will happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains to be seen as the Daredevil: Born Again story unfolds, but his recent return suggests it’s a possibility.

11. White Tiger’s Amulet

The legacy of the White Tiger is set to continue in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 2.

When Angela del Toro sought help from Kirsten and McDuffie after her aunt Soledad was taken by the AVTF, she stumbled upon her uncle’s magical amulet. It turns out the amulet had been hidden there since Hector Ayala, the original White Tiger, was killed by the AVTF in season one. This powerful amulet gives its wearer special abilities, and its reappearance in season two – now with Angela – is a thrilling development.

10. @CityWithoutFear

A fresh voice challenging the established order has appeared online with the account @CityWithoutFear. Initially thought to be a competitor to the BB Report, it’s ultimately revealed that BB Urich is actually the person behind it. The name itself is a reference to Daredevil’s famous nickname, ‘the Man Without Fear’.

9. Red Pill or Blue Pill (Matrix)

I was watching BB’s stream the other day, and he used the red pill/blue pill idea from The Matrix to explain what’s happening in New York City right now. Basically, it’s about choosing to believe Mayor Fisk’s version of events, or opening your eyes to the tougher reality of what’s really going on. It’s a powerful way to put it – do you take the comfortable lie, or the difficult truth?

8. Baseball (Bullseye)

In season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, Vanessa Fisk has a disturbing dream featuring Bullseye and a baseball that mysteriously rolls to her.

This scene references the difficult childhood of Benjamin Poindexter, as shown in season 3 of the Netflix series Daredevil. As a child, Poindexter tragically believed that pitching a perfect baseball game would bring his parents back. When his coach took him out of the game too early, young Poindexter fatally struck him with a pitch.

7. The Punisher’s Hideout

Following the raid on Josie’s, Matt and Karen head to a place fans will recognize from season one of Daredevil: Born Again: Frank Castle’s safe house. However, Frank Castle is missing, and it seems he hasn’t been back since escaping the AVTF at the end of season one.

6. Muse’s Mask

In season 2, episode 3 of Daredevil: Born Again, Heather Glenn is shown still possessing Muse’s mask. This reveals she’s still deeply affected by her near-fatal encounter with the artist and continues to be traumatized, which explains why she works for Mayor Fisk and supports his efforts against vigilantes.
