Robert Pattinson & Zendaya’s The Drama Rotten Tomatoes Score Unveiled

Though Robert Pattinson and Zendaya are first collaborating on the A24 film , it won’t be their last. They have three projects planned together for 2026, and early signs suggest the first one is going well.

True to form for A24 films, the new movie The Drama is shrouded in mystery. Despite being labeled a romantic comedy, it centers around a hidden secret. Before its release on April 3rd, The Drama has already earned a solid 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Currently, the film’s rating is based on 17 reviews, and it’s expected to change as more people share their thoughts after seeing it in theaters. An audience score will also be released once the film premieres. However, the initial response to The Drama is positive, suggesting the possibility of future collaborations between Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.

What Is The Drama About?

The basic storyline of the romantic comedy revolves around a couple planning their wedding, but a surprising secret puts everything in jeopardy. This secret became the main focus of the show and was heavily featured in its advertising.

Weddings are supposed to be joyful, but everything we’ve seen so far suggests this couple is deeply unhappy together, and their relationship is falling apart because of a hidden secret.

Despite some early leaks revealing details a week before it came out, the film still received positive reviews from critics. Directed by Kristoffer Borgli, reviewers particularly praised its unique vision and gripping atmosphere.

In a review for Slant Magazine, Rocco T. Thompson observed that Kristoffer Borgli seems to enjoy both setting and falling into emotional traps with those he cares about. Chris Bumbray of JoBlo’s Movie Network described the film as intentionally challenging and distinctly European in style, standing apart from typical Hollywood fare despite its well-known actors.

Laura LaMagna from Next Best Picture pointed out that while the movie deals with a sensitive topic, it wouldn’t be as impactful without the nuanced performances from Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.

The review commends Borgli’s work as director and writer, noting that Zendaya and Pattinson give the film a lively energy, with Zendaya particularly carrying the emotional weight. According to Matassa, the movie explores how love can turn to disgust, how one revelation can destroy closeness, and how people react when the person they thought they knew doesn’t match reality. It’s described as raw, uncomfortable, funny, and likely to spark strong reactions from viewers.

In a negative review for The Daily Beast, Nick Shager criticized the film as both poorly conceived and unfunny. He suggested that despite the talented cast, A24 should have never released it.

What’s Next for Robert Pattinson and Zendaya?

With stars Robert Pattinson, known from Twilight and The Batman, and Zendaya from Euphoria, it wasn’t surprising they’d eventually collaborate. They are both set to appear in a new film, currently titled The Drama, which is expected to be released in 2026.

Christopher Nolan’s upcoming historical film, The Odyssey, boasts a remarkable cast. Zendaya joins the director’s cinematic world for the first time, portraying Athena, the goddess of wisdom, strategy, and crafts. Robert Pattinson, who previously collaborated with Nolan on the complex film Tenet, returns to play Antinous, a man vying for the hand of Odysseus’ wife, Penelope.

Following her work on The Odyssey, Zendaya returns as Chani in the upcoming space opera Dune: Part Three. Robert Pattinson joins the cast as Scytale, a member of the Tleilaxu with the ability to change appearance, and will attempt to overthrow Timothée Chalamet’s character, Paul Atreides.

The Drama premieres in theaters on Apr. 3.
