The basic storyline of the romantic comedy revolves around a couple planning their wedding, but a surprising secret puts everything in jeopardy. This secret became the main focus of the show and was heavily featured in its advertising.

Weddings are supposed to be joyful, but everything we’ve seen so far suggests this couple is deeply unhappy together, and their relationship is falling apart because of a hidden secret.

In a review for Slant Magazine, Rocco T. Thompson observed that Kristoffer Borgli seems to enjoy both setting and falling into emotional traps with those he cares about. Chris Bumbray of JoBlo’s Movie Network described the film as intentionally challenging and distinctly European in style, standing apart from typical Hollywood fare despite its well-known actors.

Laura LaMagna from Next Best Picture pointed out that while the movie deals with a sensitive topic, it wouldn’t be as impactful without the nuanced performances from Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.

In a negative review for The Daily Beast, Nick Shager criticized the film as both poorly conceived and unfunny. He suggested that despite the talented cast, A24 should have never released it.

With stars Robert Pattinson, known from Twilight and The Batman, and Zendaya from Euphoria, it wasn’t surprising they’d eventually collaborate. They are both set to appear in a new film, currently titled The Drama, which is expected to be released in 2026.
