A recent rumor suggests the upcoming Supergirl movie has a different ending than originally planned. The film, set to release this summer, will focus on Superman’s cousin, who was first seen in last year’s Superman movie. It appears the story has been altered before its release.
Supergirl rumored to have different ending
A reliable source, Cryptic HD Quality, revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that the ending of the Supergirl movie has been changed from the original version. When a fan asked about the new ending, the source said they knew what happened but didn’t want to spoil it, adding that the changes weren’t necessarily negative – they just preferred not to reveal any details.
A source reported that Superman’s part in the movie was expanded after early viewings, with new scenes added. They say he video calls Supergirl and appears at the end of the film, which supports previous rumors about a changed ending.
Last month, film news source AxelTalksFilm reported a rumor that Superman will appear in only three scenes in the upcoming movie. They emphasized that these scenes are important for developing Supergirl’s story. Another source, Cryptic HD Quality, supported this, adding that Clark Kent/Kal-El will only physically appear once on screen.
Supergirl soars into theaters on June 26, 2026, with a new trailer expected to be released soon.
As a huge DC fan, I’m really excited about this new movie! From what I understand, it’s set in the timeline between the last Superman film and the upcoming ‘Man of Tomorrow’ story. It’s based on the fantastic ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ comic by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, and it follows Kara as she turns 23 and embarks on a galactic adventure with Krypto, her dog. It sounds like a really personal story for her, and I can’t wait to see it!
I was completely drawn into the story, especially when the main character met a girl named Ruthye Marye Knoll. That meeting really kicked off a gripping journey of revenge, pitting her against some seriously tough opponents like Krem of the Yellow Hills and Lobo. It was all brought to life by director Craig Gillespie, working from a script by Ana Nogueira, and produced by the heads of DC Studios, James Gunn and Peter Safran – a fantastic team!
Milly Alcock plays the main character. The film also features Eve Ridley, Matthias Schoenaerts, Jason Momoa, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, Ferdinand Kingsley, and Diarmaid Murtagh.
