Stefan Kapicic joins Keanu Reeves’ new sci-fi action movie

Keanu Reeves’ new science fiction film has cast Stefan Kapicic, a Serbian actor, according to a recent report in The Hollywood Reporter.

Although details about what role Marko Kapicic will play in the movie are still secret, reports indicate he might be the villain opposing Keanu Reeves’ character.

Stefan Kapičić is best known for playing Colossus in the Deadpool films. He’s also worked with the same director, Tim Miller, on an episode of the Netflix show Love, Death & Robots. Beyond that, the 47-year-old actor has appeared in series like Better Call Saul and the 2023 movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter.

Warner Bros. hasn’t revealed much about the plot of Matt Reeves’ upcoming sci-fi film. However, The Hollywood Reporter suggests it’s a blend of ideas from the time-travel movie Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise and the survival thriller The Shallows, featuring Blake Lively.

The script for the upcoming Keanu Reeves movie is by Ian Shorr, known for his work on Splinter. Matthew Vaughn, Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and John Zaozirny are producing the film, with Scott Lumpkin serving as executive producer.

Besides Keanu Reeves and Stefan Kapicic, I was really pleased to see such a great supporting cast in this sci-fi film! It also stars Callie Cooke, Steven Waddington, Nicholas Duvernay, Abraham Popoola, Anastasia Sofonav, and even Bobby Holland Hanton – a really solid group of actors, in my opinion.

Filming for the new, currently unnamed movie is underway, and it’s happening in the Dominican Republic. The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 13, 2027.
