Readers can catch a glimpse of this intense moment in the trailer, where Clara is depicted leaving her father’s service, having just endured her aunt’s funeral only a few hours prior.

Although Miller wasn’t very acquainted with Clara, he still chose to attend her father’s memorial service, hinting at a potential sincere curiosity towards the book’s main character.
