98% RT Star Wars Show Renewed for Season 4 – Report

A popular animated series from the Star Wars universe is apparently getting another season. Industry source Daniel Richtman reports that Lucasfilm is secretly working on continuing the well-loved anime anthology.

If true, this would be a significant achievement for the series, as very few animated Star Wars shows have lasted beyond three seasons on Disney+.

Star Wars: Visions Season 4 rumored to be renewed

Following the huge success of Season 3 of Star Wars: Visions, which launched on Disney+ in October and earned a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, reports indicate Lucasfilm plans to continue the anthology series with a Season 4. According to an insider, they are also developing other spin-off projects, potentially under the new Star Wars: Visions Presents label.

Disney is launching a new label called Visions Presents in 2025 to create more content based on its popular anime shorts. The first project will be a full series inspired by the highly-rated episode “The Ninth Jedi,” created by Production IG, and is planned for release in 2026. This indicates that Disney may bring back other popular stories from the series as well.

In 2021, Star Wars: Visions debuted as an exciting new project. It invited animation studios worldwide to create original Star Wars stories that weren’t part of the official timeline. This approach sparked a wealth of creativity, with notable studios like Studio Trigger, Aardman, and Studio Mir contributing their unique artistic styles. The first season and the latest Volume 3 largely showcased the look and feel of Japanese anime, while Volume 2 expanded to include studios from France, India, and Chile, bringing even more diverse perspectives to the galaxy far, far away.

Although Disney hasn’t officially confirmed it yet, people are already guessing what Star Wars: Visions Season 4 will be about. If the show is renewed, it will be unique among current Lucasfilm projects, as it’s one of the few animated anthology series they produce.
