7 The Boys Characters Who Are In Serious Danger Of Death After Major Season 5 Spoiler

For the past six years, The Boys has been a leading force in the superhero genre and a hugely popular streaming show. With its final season arriving next year, it’s become one of the most anticipated TV events in recent memory. While it started as a satire, the show has evolved into a compelling story with characters that viewers have really connected with.

While most of the main characters have made it through four seasons, Karl Urban has suggested the fifth season of The Boys might start with some major character deaths. This means several heroes and villains are now in danger, and seven of them especially could be killed off when the show returns in 2026.

7. Firecracker

Firecracker debuted in season 4 of The Boys, and her time on the show might be brief. Many viewers believe she’s a strong candidate to die in the season 5 premiere. While she’s currently part of the Seven, she’s become less valuable to Homelander, and he doesn’t appear inclined to keep her safe.

She’s not a skilled fighter and often speaks her mind, so the resistance in The Boys probably won’t feel much sympathy for her. Billy Butcher, focused on eliminating supes, definitely won’t either. Even Homelander might kill her, either because he’s annoyed or to intimidate his followers.

Firecracker is in real danger of being killed off early in season 5 of The Boys. It’s unclear how her character fits into the new storyline, and unless she can regain Homelander’s favor, she’s likely to be one of the first major characters to die, potentially setting the stage for the rest of the season.

6. Polarity

Polarity has been a significant character in the Gen V spin-off, even though he hasn’t been in the original The Boys series yet. However, his chance to officially join The Boys might be tragically brief. In the season 2 finale of Gen V, Polarity purposefully stayed behind after helping defeat Thomas Godolkin, essentially sacrificing himself to take the blame.

His heroic deeds enabled the characters from the spin-off series to team up with Starlight’s group fighting back, but his own future is now uncertain. Given that Sister Sage previously threw him in prison, it’s probable Homelander will capture him next. And with Homelander becoming increasingly dangerous, he might publicly punish Polarity as a warning to others.

It’s concerning that Homelander doesn’t seem to have the temperament for drawn-out torture. He might simply and violently kill the former Vought hero as a public example, sending a message about what happens to those he considers traitors. While a grim and shocking way to begin the season, it would fit the dark tone of The Boys and aligns with what Karl Urban has suggested.

5. Ashley Barrett

We last saw Ashley Barrett injecting herself with Compound V, and we never found out what happened afterward. It’s possible she developed powerful abilities, potentially making her a strong ally for Homelander or even a formidable opponent against him and his followers.

Although the thought of Sister Sage becoming incredibly powerful is interesting, it seems her Compound V injection didn’t go well, and she’s unfit to lead. If she didn’t develop any helpful abilities, it would be typical of Homelander to kill her, as he’s easily repulsed by things he deems unpleasant.

It would be a disappointing and unfair end for her, but it seems like season 5 of The Boys is going to be significantly more intense than previous seasons. This means a beloved, original character might not get the satisfying resolution fans are hoping for, and could instead be easily abandoned by Vought, just like so many others.

4. Stan Edgar

Stan Edgar has consistently been one of the few people brave enough to challenge Homelander, and this defiance might ultimately be his downfall. Even after being removed from Vought and losing his daughter, his appearance in season 2 of Gen V shows he’s still a cunning strategist, as evidenced by his attempt to recruit Marie.

The former CEO is determined to get his job back at Vought and steer the company in a positive direction. To do that, he needs Marie on his side to defeat Homelander. While things haven’t gone exactly as he hoped, he might end up working with Starlight to create a strategy against the main villain from The Boys.

Despite his wealth and smarts, Stan is vulnerable and easily targeted if he ventures out of hiding. His ambition to regain power could therefore be dangerous, and killing off such a prominent character in the first episode would send a strong message about the direction of season 5.

3. Black Noir II

After the death of the first Black Noir in The Boys, his replacement might meet the same end. Although Homelander could be responsible, it seems more probable that a hero will kill him – and Billy Butcher appears to be the most likely one to do it.

In season 4 of The Boys, it was revealed that Billy Butcher gained superpowers by taking Compound V. His ruthless killing of Victoria Neuman showed just how dangerous he’s become. Now, many viewers believe he’s powerful enough to fight Homelander alone, which would make defeating Black Noir II relatively simple for him.

Now that Butcher is working alone, he’s focused on eliminating all supes connected to Vought or Homelander. It makes sense that the show would quickly showcase the strength of the new Black Noir, and it’s likely he’ll become one of Butcher’s targets as the season progresses.

2. Frenchie

Frenchie has been an important character in The Boys since the very beginning, starting as one of Butcher’s original teammates and consistently remaining a dedicated friend. Throughout the show, his character has grown significantly, and many fans believe he’s a likely candidate to be killed off early in season five.

Despite continuing to offer guidance and humor, this character’s story feels complete, making a tragic end seem likely. His death would be a powerful, emotional moment, demonstrating that the show The Boys is willing to take risks and deliver on its promise that no character is safe, especially as the final season approaches.

The only good news for Frenchie is that episode titles for The Boys season 5 hint at an upcoming episode focusing on him, Kimiko, and Mother’s Milk. This suggests he might make it that far. However, it could also be a misleading clue – perhaps a flashback or a trick to make fans think he’s safe – meaning he’s still in danger right from the start of the season.

1. Sister Sage

Following the events of Gen V season 2, Sister Sage is now likely in the most danger heading into season 5 of The Boys. She recently worked with Homelander, helping him seize control of the United States simply for his own amusement, which earned her his favor. However, this close connection to such a powerful and unpredictable villain also makes her a prime target.

I was shocked to find out Marie was secretly working with Godolkin in season two of Gen V! It seemed so out of nowhere, especially since everyone thought he was gone. Now that it’s public knowledge, I’m really worried. Homelander hates being kept in the dark, and we all saw what happened to Black Noir when he tried to hide things. This could be a huge mistake for Marie, and I’m bracing myself for the fallout.

As a huge fan of The Boys, I’m really worried about Sage. While she’s incredibly clever – seriously, the smartest person in that messed-up world – I just don’t see her making it through season 5. Homelander has everything he wants right now, so she’s almost… unnecessary. Even if he doesn’t off her, I can easily see Butcher or even Starlight turning their attention to her, and honestly, surviving that kind of scrutiny feels impossible. It’s a shame, because she’s a brilliant character, but the odds are definitely stacked against her.
