The first trailer for VisionQuest is out, and the series will bring back characters from the Disney+ hit WandaVision. Paul Bettany, who has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the beginning as the voice of JARVIS in Iron Man and later as Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron, will lead the series. VisionQuest will continue Vision’s story after his death in Infinity War, picking up where WandaVision left off, and is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2026.
At New York Comic-Con, Marvel Studios revealed the first trailer and logo for their upcoming series, VisionQuest, and announced some of the actors who will be starring in it. The show will introduce new characters like Paladin, played by Todd Stashwick, but will also feature returning faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe – including a well-known villain.
Every MCU Character Returning in VisionQuest (Confirmed)
Vision

After being brought back to life by SWORD with a new body, the Disney+ series WandaVision ended with White Vision regaining his memories and leaving Westview. Paul Bettany recently shared at New York Comic-Con that White Vision is struggling to fully process those memories, and this will be a central part of his story going forward.
Okay, so the VisionQuest trailer dropped, and it looks like Vision’s gonna be doing some serious mental traveling! Apparently, inside his head, there’s this ’60s-style mansion where he’s running into all of Tony Stark’s old AIs. It’s like a digital reunion! And it seems connecting with these different systems is triggering memories for him – we even get a glimpse of what looks like Scotland, where he and Wanda used to live. It’s shaping up to be a really interesting dive into his past.
Ultron

James Spader, who has won an Emmy, is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after an 11-year break to play Ultron again. This time, he’ll also appear as a human form of the character. In the trailer, Ultron repeatedly taunts Vision, pointing out his complicated nature and describing him as a haunting presence from his own past.
Quentin Beck, the villain from Avengers: Age of Ultron, isn’t just making a quick appearance for fans. His relationship with Vision is actually central to the plot of the show, and he’ll be appearing in his original robot body.
JARVIS

Although Paul Bettany famously voiced JARVIS in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, James D’Arcy will be taking on the role in the upcoming VisionQuest. This marks a first for Marvel Studios, as D’Arcy previously portrayed Edwin Jarvis – the human butler who served as the inspiration for Tony Stark’s AI – in both Agent Carter and Avengers: Endgame.
The original AI from Iron Man played a crucial role in bringing Vision to life, combined with elements of Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Ultron, and the Mind Stone. In the VisionQuest storyline, JARVIS – now appearing as a more human version of himself – seems to be acting as Vision’s butler within a bizarre, simulated mansion, much like he served Howard Stark in the past.
FRIDAY

FRIDAY was a digital assistant created by Tony Stark, first appearing in Age of Ultron and used through Avengers: Endgame. She took over after Ultron stole JARVIS, effectively replacing him.
I’m so excited that Kerry Condon, who I loved in Better Call Saul, is going to voice this character! She’s perfect for playing one of those fascinating, human-like AIs we’ll see inside Vision’s head.
EDITH

EDITH, an AI system nicknamed “Even Dead, I’m The Hero,” played a key role in the plot of Spider-Man: Far From Home by operating through Tony Stark’s glasses. She’s set to reappear in VisionQuest, where she’ll be portrayed as a sort of sibling to Vision, as shown in a trailer revealed at New York Comic Con where she dramatically crashes through the roof of Vision’s digital home.
In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Dawn Michelle King provided the voice for EDITH. However, for the upcoming film VisionQuest, Emily Hampshire, known for her role in Schitt’s Creek, will take over the voice acting. This change is due to EDITH having a larger, more developed role in VisionQuest, and Dawn Michelle King’s primary profession is assistant editing, not acting.
Tommy Maximoff

Beyond the numerous AI-created characters, the Disney+ series VisionQuest will reunite Vision with one of his sons. Scottish actor Ruaridh Mollica will play Thomas Shephard, also known as Tommy Maximoff. The series will probably reveal how the young speedster, Speed, has reappeared as an older version of himself, similar to how Agatha All Along introduced Joe Locke as the magical Billy/Wiccan.
Tommy appeared only briefly in the New York Comic Con trailer, saying, “I had a family,” before appearing on a security camera feed. While he’s shown interacting with Vision as Ultron, it’s currently unknown how significant his role will be in the story. The show will likely need to explain how he was brought back to life.
BONUS.) Raza

Okay, so I was a little worried when I didn’t see Faran Tahir in the VisionQuest trailer, but great news! He’s officially coming back as Raza – you know, the guy who kidnapped Tony Stark and led the Ten Rings? Apparently, by appearing in the 2026 Disney+ series, he’s going to make MCU history with the longest gap between appearances by any actor! Pretty cool to see a familiar face returning after all this time.
We don’t know how Raza might return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly since it seemed he died fighting Obadiah Stane. But it’s possible his return is another one of the deceptive illusions we’ve seen in the show.
