The upcoming sequel to WandaVision, titled VisionQuest, will move away from the original show’s villain and introduce a new, more powerful enemy for Vision. This show is planned as the final installment in a WandaVision trilogy, focusing on White Vision’s journey to discover his place in the world. While details about the plot are still secret, fans are particularly interested in learning more about who will be the main villain.
After Agatha Harkness seemingly died and became a ghost in the series Agatha: All Along, she passes the role of main villain in VisionQuest to a new group of enemies: Paladin, Jocasta, and Ultron (who is back in his human form from the 2015 movie Avengers: Age of Ultron).

Okay, so as of right now, it’s still up in the air whether Agatha Harkness will show up in VisionQuest. But honestly, I’m keeping my fingers crossed! Remember how Agatha: All Along ended? She basically signed on to help Billy Maximoff find Tommy, and Tommy’s already confirmed to be in the WandaVision sequel. So, it feels like a pretty natural fit for her to appear, and I’d be surprised if they didn’t find a way to include her.

The new series, VisionQuest, will delve into the backstories of three of Vision’s biggest enemies, particularly focusing on Jocasta and the reasons behind her conflict with him. In the Marvel comics, Jocasta is a highly intelligent artificial intelligence with a body made of vibranium, giving her incredible strength, flight, and other superhuman abilities.
It’s notable that Ultron originally built Jocasta to be his wife and another enemy of the Avengers. Although she ultimately turned against Ultron in the comics, the VisionQuest storyline offers a chance to portray Jocasta as a true villain, potentially causing problems for Vision’s attempt to reconnect with his son, Tommy Maximoff.

The show will also include a human villain named Paladin, who used to be a mercenary and private investigator. Like super-soldiers, he possesses enhanced abilities. While it’s unclear why he’s pursuing White Vision, it makes sense that he was hired by an organization like SWORD or the Department of Damage Control to find and possibly destroy the former Avenger.
The trailer for VisionQuest, shown at New York Comic-Con 2025, hinted that Ultron might team up with White Vision, helping him recover lost memories connected to Wanda. However, it’s also possible Ultron will turn out to be the main villain of the series, just like Agatha Harkness was in WandaVision.
This suggests Ultron might be the mastermind behind everything. If that’s true, he’d be a fitting villain to conclude the WandaVision story.
VisionQuest, created by Terry Matalas, features Paul Bettany, Ruaridh Mollica, and James Spader in leading roles. The cast also includes Henry Lewis as DUM-E, Jonathan Sayer as U, James D’Arcy as JARVIS, Orla Brady as FRIDAY, and Emily Hampshire as EDITH. The series is anticipated to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
Why Ultron Is the Perfect Agatha Replacement in VisionQuest
The upcoming VisionQuest storyline will center on White Vision as he grapples with his fractured identity, still haunted by the memories of the original Vision. It makes sense that Ultron is the mastermind behind the conflict, much like Agatha was, because he’s the most logical choice to devise a complicated scheme to defeat Vision.
The show offers Ultron a chance to manipulate White Vision, possibly using him to get his long-awaited revenge on the Avengers. He might start by acting like a friend to earn White Vision’s trust. Ultron’s plan could even focus on Vision, since Vision was responsible for Ultron’s destruction.
Just like in the comics, Ultron might be responsible for corrupting Jocasta in the VisionQuest storyline, pushing her to attack Vision and potentially take away his free will. If that plan doesn’t work, Ultron could expose his overall scheme, leading to another battle between Ultron and Vision.
Ultron might also be the source of Paladin’s information about White Vision, connecting him to the other antagonists in the VisionQuest storyline.
