Margot Robbie, now a major star thanks to Barbie, has a history of choosing exciting roles in films like The Suicide Squad, Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood, and Babylon. But many fans consider her most wild and over-the-top R-rated movie to be The Wolf of Wall Street, where she starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. If you haven’t seen this incredibly entertaining film, or you’re in the mood to watch it again, it’s currently available to stream for free!
You can now watch The Wolf of Wall Street on Tubi! Added to the free streaming service on December 1st, this wild biopic—directed by Martin Scorsese—stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jordan Belfort. The film follows Belfort’s journey as a Wall Street broker who, after losing his job during the 1987 stock market crash, discovers a lucrative—but illegal—way to make money. It’s a classic Scorsese story of a rapid ascent to success and an equally swift fall from grace. Here’s what the movie is about:
I first learned about Jordan Belfort and his incredible story back in 1987, when he started out on Wall Street. It wasn’t long before, still just a young man in his twenties, he launched his own company, Stratton Oakmont. He and a team of brokers quickly built a fortune, though sadly, it was built on deceiving investors out of their money. While they were living a wild life of parties, drugs, and everything they could imagine, the authorities – the SEC and the FBI – were starting to investigate their lavish, and ultimately illegal, empire.
The movie boasts an impressive cast, featuring stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, and many other talented actors. It’s considered one of Martin Scorsese’s best recent films, currently holding an 8.2 rating on IMDb, and received five Academy Award nominations in 2014.
The Crazy True Story of ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’

Paramount Pictures
Since The Wolf of Wall Street is a true story, it’s not surprising the film is based on real events. In fact, the real Jordan Belfort appears briefly at the end. The movie adapts Belfort’s own memoir, and while it’s largely accurate, there’s one detail the filmmakers changed from what actually happened.
The movie The Wolf of Wall Street focuses on extreme indulgence – lots of drugs, money, and partying. Surprisingly, the film actually tones down how wild things really were. The actual events, as described in the book, were even more outrageous when it came to parties, drug use, and other illegal behavior.
