12 Live-Action Star Wars Shows We Need To See After Ahsoka Season 2

The second season of Ahsoka is expected in 2026, but Lucasfilm hasn’t announced what Star Wars shows are coming to television after that. The Mandalorian’s story is now being told in a movie, and other series like Andor and The Acolyte have either finished their run or won’t be returning.

Now that Ahsoka season 2 has finished, fans are wondering what’s next for Star Wars on television. Luckily, there are a lot of promising ideas! From continuing popular shows, bringing back beloved characters, and delving into unexplored parts of the Star Wars universe, here are 12 live-action shows Lucasfilm should consider making after Ahsoka.

The Book of Boba Fett Season 2

Although Boba Fett successfully took control of Mos Espa on Tatooine at the end of season 1, maintaining that power won’t be easy. A second season could show him building his influence and also help improve the show’s reputation after the first season received mixed reactions.

Temuera Morrison, who plays Boba Fett, has the potential to show us more of the character’s development, moving beyond his role as a crime boss and reminding fans why they originally enjoyed his adventures as a bounty hunter.

Skeleton Crew Season 2

Taking cues from the adventurous, family-friendly films of Amblin Entertainment in the 1980s, Skeleton Crew is a really enjoyable story set in the Star Wars universe after the fall of the Empire. Jude Law delivers a captivating performance as a Force-sensitive pirate captain, and the story also follows a group of children on a thrilling quest across the stars.

Honestly, I’m really hoping for a second season because it feels like we’ve just scratched the surface of this world. It’s got that classic, adventurous vibe – kind of like an old Amblin film – and I’d love to see them really dive deeper into that galaxy and explore even more of it.

Rogue Squadron

Originally intended as a film directed by Patty Jenkins, the long-delayed Rogue Squadron project is now reportedly being considered as a series for Disney+. This format could allow for a deeper exploration of the characters and a more detailed look at the lives of pilots serving the New Republic.

This story has been described as a blend of Top Gun and Star Wars, and it’s great that it’s finally being told, no matter how it’s presented.

The Hunt for Ben Solo

Disney previously turned down an idea from Adam Driver for a movie about Ben Solo, but now that fans know about it and are eager to see it, it could work well as a limited series.

According to reports, Adam Driver thought his character, Ben Solo, had more story to tell after The Rise of Skywalker. It would be interesting to see that story continued, as Star Wars offers many possibilities for explaining how Ben could have survived.

The Hidden Path (Quinlan Vos)

The 2022 series Obi-Wan Kenobi introduced the Hidden Path, a secret network that helped Force-sensitive individuals and their families escape the Empire during a dark period of its rule.

The Path has appeared in both the video game Jedi: Survivor and the animated series Tales of the Underworld. It’s led by Quinlan Vos, a Jedi who survived Order 66, and a live-action series focusing on his story would be really interesting, given his complex and exciting character.

A show focusing on the Hidden Path could blend the realistic, gritty style of Andor with the more spiritual side of Star Wars, potentially making it one of the best Star Wars series ever created.

Darth Vader

Now that Hayden Christensen has reprised his role as Darth Vader in both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, many fans believe a series focused on Vader’s years between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope would be a good idea. Such a show could explore Vader tracking down remaining Jedi, suppressing rebellions, and battling his inner demons as he tries to leave his past life as Anakin Skywalker behind.

A limited series starring Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, based on the comics from 2017, would be incredibly exciting for Star Wars fans.

Jedi – Cal Kestis

Following his appearances in two popular Star Wars video games, Cal Kestis, a survivor of the devastating Order 66, is finally getting his chance to shine in live-action.

Cameron Monaghan is already ideal for the role, making a Jedi: Cal Kestis series a smart move. This is especially true considering EA’s recent acquisition might mean the planned third game won’t be made. If that happens, Lucasfilm should definitely consider a live-action series that continues the story after Jedi: Survivor.

General Grievous

A prequel series about General Grievous would need to be both frightening and heartbreaking. It could show his journey from a Kaleesh warrior into the mechanical creature he becomes, and how Count Dooku exploited his anger, ultimately turning him into the Separatists’ ruthless droid general during the Clone Wars.

Exploring General Grievous’s life before he became a cyborg, showing how he transformed into Darth Vader’s predecessor, and depicting the personal cost of his ambition would create a surprisingly moving backstory. It would also give fans another chance to see the popular character brought to life on screen.

Knights of the Old Republic

The Old Republic, a period thousands of years before the events of the prequel films, is still largely untouched territory in official Star Wars storytelling. A series based on Knights of the Old Republic could finally tell the story of Revan and Malak – two Jedi who turned to the dark side, became powerful Sith Lords, and changed the galaxy – and Revan’s eventual return to the light.

This could be the epic, sweeping Star Wars story fans have been waiting for – something on the scale of Game of Thrones.

Dark Lords of the Sith (The Stranger/Plagueis)

I was really disappointed to hear The Acolyte got canceled, but it’s sparked a lot of conversation among Star Wars fans – myself included! A lot of us are hoping Disney+ might consider a spin-off focusing on the Dark Lords of the Sith. Specifically, I’d love to see them explore Darth Plagueis’s story and his obsession with achieving immortality, as established in the canon. And honestly, I’m still fascinated by Manny Jacinto’s character, Qimir (The Stranger), so delving deeper into his backstory would be amazing too.

A series focusing on the Dark Lords of the Sith could delve into Qimir’s history, revealing why he turned away from both the Jedi and Sith philosophies. Recent confirmations hint that Qimir was the original “Ren,” possibly establishing the lineage of these dark side warriors.
