As a huge fan, I’m so excited that Invincible is back for season four! It’s amazing how powerful the heroes already are in the show, but honestly, the comic books take it to a whole other level. Throughout the Invincible story, everyone keeps getting stronger and proving themselves against some truly galactic-level threats. So, I’ve put together a list of what I think are the ten most powerful characters in the Invincible comics, and I’m also predicting who we’ll see level up even more in season four and beyond.
Following the events of season 3, the power levels of Invincible‘s characters are now more aligned with the original comic book. The latest episodes introduced several incredibly strong new characters, most notably Conquest, who proved to be Mark Grayson’s toughest Viltrumite opponent yet. Allen the Alien also received significant power boosts towards the end of season 2 and showcased his enhanced abilities in season 3. However, the show’s power dynamics are still evolving, and the rankings will likely change considerably as the story progresses.
10. Robot
Though Invincible features many physically imposing characters, Robot’s real danger lies in his intelligence. Rudolph Conners is exceptionally smart – one of the brightest minds in the Image Comics universe. He uses this intelligence to create robots, drones, advanced weaponry, and other cybernetic technology. This, combined with his strategic thinking, allows him to fight and defeat incredibly powerful opponents. Ultimately, this leads him to become the leader of the Guardians of the Globe and a highly esteemed hero in the United States.
I’ve seen Robot do some truly unbelievable things, especially when he embraces his darker impulses. He actually became the leader of the Flaxan Empire, lost that position in a takeover, and then fought his way back to the top. While in charge, he completely reshaped Flaxan society, showing just how much power he wields. It gets even more shocking – he eventually killed an alternate version of Invincible and conquered Earth, taking down so many heroes in the process. What’s really scary is that he wasn’t even physically stronger than most of them; he just outsmarted them with his incredible planning and knowledge. They didn’t stand a chance.
9. Space Racer
Space Racer is a relatively unknown character from the Invincible universe, first appearing in the show’s second season. Though not a major player in the comics, he’s incredibly powerful due to the weapon he carries. This weapon can penetrate any substance, even the incredibly durable skin of the Viltrumites. While Space Racer himself can be harmed, his weapon’s power allows him to survive numerous battles, including the devastating Viltrumite War.
8. Anissa
The Viltrumites are renowned as the most powerful beings in the galaxy, and Anissa is definitely among them. Throughout the Invincible comics, she consistently battles other Viltrumites without much effort. Although she is eventually killed by Thragg’s offspring, this doesn’t change the fact that she’s incredibly strong. Anissa appears to have better self-control than many of her race, yet she’s still capable of immense destruction, making her a particularly frightening opponent for Mark.
7. Conquest
Conquest is a very powerful Viltrumite in the Invincible comics and a key ally to Thragg. The show has already covered most of his storyline, particularly his brutal fight with Mark following the Invincible War. This battle was even more destructive than Nolan’s initial fight with Mark, as Conquest casually destroys cities, kills many people, and jokes throughout the entire conflict.
During the battle, Conquest successfully defended himself against Mark, Atom Eve, and Oliver, despite them teaming up. The heroes weren’t able to defeat him at any point, demonstrating his immense power. Conquest was only stopped when Atom Eve accidentally unleashed a huge energy blast. However, even that wasn’t enough to destroy him; he eventually escaped his containment and continued fighting in later battles.
6. Atom Eve
Throughout the series Invincible, Atom Eve has consistently grown more powerful, and that trend is set to continue. By the end of season 3, she breaks through a mental barrier, giving her the ability to alter the atomic structure of living things. This effectively makes her immortal, as her body can now automatically rebuild itself from any injury. It also dramatically increases her potential in future fights, as she can now manipulate the bodies of others, assuming she maintains control. Even with the mental strain her powers cause, she’s still able to create diverse and powerful constructs, making her a formidable opponent.
5. Omni-Man
When Omni-Man debuted in the first season of Invincible, he seemed invincible. It’s ironic, then, to see how much his power diminishes throughout the comic book series. His initial fight with Mark showcased his immense strength, largely because he was the first Viltrumite anyone had encountered, and Mark was relatively weak at the time. Though Nolan is a powerful warrior within the Viltrum Empire, he’s ultimately surpassed by figures like Thragg and his own son, Mark. He does experience several defeats in the comics, but remains nearly unbeatable except when facing the very top-tier opponents.
4. Battle Beast
Initially a small-time villain, Battle Beast rapidly becomes one of the most formidable characters in Invincible when it’s discovered he can defeat Viltrumites. He’s naturally powerful due to his strong alien heritage, but he’s also burdened by a family curse that compels him to constantly battle the strongest warriors in the universe. Battle Beast consistently either wins or fights to a draw, until his eventual defeat by Thragg.
3. Allen the Alien
By the end of Invincible season 3, Allen the Alien has become the most powerful character in the series. Thanks to enhancements from the Coalition of Planets, he’s even stronger than the Viltrumites, often easily defeating them while playfully joking during fights. He can withstand massive attacks without being harmed and defeats many of the galaxy’s strongest warriors effortlessly. Allen has already reached his full potential as depicted in the comic books by season 3, and he’s expected to be involved in more exciting battles in season 4.
2. Thragg
Season 4 of Invincible will feature Grand Regent Thragg, the second most powerful character in the comic book series. Thragg leads the Viltrum Empire thanks to his incredible strength and serves as the main antagonist of the comics. He’s an overwhelmingly powerful threat that few heroes can face alone, and he’s even defeated powerful characters like Battle Beast and Nolan. While Mark ultimately defeats Thragg, he needs help from Allen and Robot, leaving some debate about who truly is the strongest character in Invincible.
1. Invincible
Viltrumites become more powerful as they age, and Mark is a prime example. He starts out relatively weak but eventually becomes the strongest character in the entire universe. By the end of the comic series, he’s strong enough to defeat even Thragg and Allen – characters who previously beat incredibly powerful Viltrumites like Battle Beast and Nolan. Unlike many other heroes, Mark doesn’t gain new powers or enhancements. He simply becomes exceptionally skilled and powerful in the abilities he already had, allowing him to surpass every other character in the Invincible universe in terms of strength, speed, and flight.
