10 Most Powerful Spider-Man Villains Who Debuted in the Last Five Years, Ranked

Spider-Man has one of the most memorable and extensive collections of villains in comic books, and it’s grown significantly in the last five years. These new additions are all over the map in terms of power, with some becoming major threats and others ranking among his easiest foes.

The latest villains Spider-Man faces – whether battling Peter Parker or Miles Morales – could become iconic additions to the classic list of Spidey’s enemies. It’s still early days, but what we’ve seen so far gives us a good idea of how powerful they are compared to each other.

Rabble’s Technopathy Is Versatile But Limited

Raneem Rashad, also known as Rabble, first appeared in December 2022 as a new enemy for Miles Morales. She’s always had a special connection with technology and enjoys working with machines. Rabble became hostile towards Miles when he was accepted into Brooklyn Visions Academy, a spot she felt she deserved. This led to a fierce rivalry, and Rabble has since become a persistent and challenging opponent for Miles in the city.

Rabble isn’t able to build her own technology like Iron Man. She has to get it from companies like Roxxon, which limits what she can do. However, this ability to acquire technology could still be incredibly powerful for her.

White Cat Has Great Potential

Lance Lewis, also known as White Cat, is a recent addition to Marvel Comics, so he’s still relatively unknown. However, early appearances suggest he has powers similar to Black Cat. Like his counterpart, White Cat seems able to manipulate luck, bringing misfortune to others nearby while enhancing his own good fortune.

Okay, so I’ve been playing as both characters, and honestly, White Cat still feels a step behind Black Cat. Black Cat just seems to know more fighting moves in a brawl, and it’s like her skills completely shut down White Cat’s whole ‘luck’ thing. But, and this is a big but, White Cat is the only one I’ve found who can actually sneak up on Miles Morales – her powers totally bypass his spider-sense, which is pretty awesome and really throws him off!

Inari’s Light Constructs Show Immense Promise

Monika Mori, who goes by the alias Inari, teams up with White Cat for small-time crimes, but she has a particularly special ability. Similar to Kamala Khan from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Inari can create things out of light. However, instead of solid shapes, she’s known for summoning three glowing, fox-like spirits called kitsune, inspired by Japanese folklore, to help her with her schemes. She also forms light into weapons, often shaping it at the ends of a pair of batons.

Inari’s abilities seem more developed than her partner’s. Her spirit companions, called kitsune, can move through solid objects and fight, and their large numbers make them adaptable. It’s likely Inari’s ability to create things will continue to grow. Currently, she’s looking like a valuable asset.

Hightail’s Super-Speed Is Little Match For Miles Morales

Hightail isn’t as formidable as some super-speedsters, and those with super-speed are always challenging opponents, regardless of their morals. She’s a small-time criminal who typically works with villains like Scorpion and Rabble, though Rabble is known to betray her allies if it benefits her own pride.

While Hightail is incredibly fast, Miles Morales can usually overcome this with his invisibility. Hightail is more agile than Miles, but only if she sees an attack coming. However, being a newer and less powerful member of the Cape Killers, Hightail isn’t a major concern for Miles.

Agent Gao Is Now War Cry

Agent Gao used to be a major problem for Miles Morales, sending dangerous enemies after him even when it wasn’t strictly legal, simply because she was spiteful. She’s now much more powerful. Previously, her strength lay in her connections and ability to disrupt plans, whether they were from heroes or villains. Now, she’s strong enough to survive a full attack from someone as powerful as Deadpool.

It’s hard to gauge Gao’s true strength since we haven’t seen her use her full abilities often. While she lost her first fight, as the earthly form of the war god Ares, she’s expected to be incredibly powerful, and we might see more of that power in future battles.

Queen Goblin Has Supernatural Powers

I’ve been following Norman Osborn for ages, and it’s wild to see how his legacy keeps popping up! The latest twist? Ashley Kafka, who everyone thought was gone, came back as a clone… but things went seriously wrong. Somehow, Norman’s evil rubbed off on the clone, and now she’s become this new villain, Queen Goblin – though she’s totally different from the Goblin Queen some fans might remember. She’s got all the classic Goblin powers, but also a few new tricks up her sleeve, which is pretty scary!

One of Queen Goblin’s most notable abilities is her Goblin Gaze, which causes intense despair in whoever it’s used on. It almost defeated Black Cat – though Peter Parker managed to save her – indicating that even Black Cat’s luck-based powers couldn’t fully protect her from its effects. Instead of the usual Pumpkin Bombs, Queen Goblin fights with a scepter that can instantly burn her opponents.

Hallows’ Eve Boasts Several Limbo-Born Powers

Hallows’ Eve is an even more Halloween-focused villain than Goblin Queen, and like her, is another form of an existing character. She’s the alter ego of Janine Godbe (born Elizabeth Tyne), a character who has appeared in Spider-Man comics for years as a love interest for Ben Reilly, a clone of Peter Parker. After a brief time in Limbo, which was then controlled by Madelyne Pryor, Godbe gained powers from the Goblin Queen, specifically through the finger of the demon S’ym.

Hallows’ Eve now has a wide range of abilities, and it’s unclear how powerful she could become. After receiving masks from S’ym, Godbe can use each one to gain different powers – some are straightforward, like super strength, while others are more mysterious, like those of a horror movie villain. The possibilities for Hallows’ Eve seem endless, depending on which mask she has available.

Chasm Boasts Spider-Man’s Powers With A Little Extra

Ben Reilly, who was created as a clone of Peter Parker, witnessed Godbe gain her abilities. By this point, he was calling himself Chasm, a name he took after a traumatic experience. He believed his original self had stolen his life, and this led to him falling into a strange, mind-altering substance. This happened in The Amazing Spider-Man #93, and the goo gave him special powers, giving him an advantage against Peter.

Chasm has developed the ability to create solid objects out of light, much like Inari, and can also fire powerful energy blasts. Since Ben already shares powers with Spider-Man, this new ability gives Chasm an edge over his enemy. However, Spider-Man’s greater experience might be enough to win the fight.

Hellgate Seems To Be A Godlike Character

Hellgate is a mysterious and incredibly powerful new villain whose origins and abilities are largely unknown. He easily defeats Spider-Man in their first fight, establishing him as one of the strongest opponents Spider-Man has faced in recent comics.

Hellgate proved incredibly durable, withstanding two full canisters of Spider-Man’s webbing while fighting a Spider-Man who was using his full strength. It also demonstrated immense power, destroying a building and generating enough heat to melt liquid nitrogen. Worryingly, Hellgate casually killed multiple people with a single blow, indicating it’s not acting with good intentions, even though it claims to be offering loyalty to the “Prince of Steel-Silk.”

The Scions Of Cyttorak Require 8 Lives To Defeat

Spider-Man has fought Juggernaut, a powerful being connected to the entity Cyttorak, many times. But in 2024, Marvel introduced an even bigger threat: the Scions of Cyttorak, Cyttorak’s incredibly powerful offspring. These rage-filled beings attacked Earth, and were originally meant to be dealt with by Doctor Doom, the new Sorcerer Supreme, who refused. Doom then passed the responsibility to Spider-Man, giving him a special suit that would revive him eight times if he fell in battle.

Wow, seeing the Scions take such extreme measures really shows just how powerful they are as a group! Cyra and Callix definitely seem to be the biggest threats. It’s crazy to think they’re basically the children of a god from another dimension – they’re easily some of the most challenging villains Spider-Man has ever gone up against, especially recently. Honestly, it’s a good thing Spidey has ways to come back from the brink, because he’s really been needing them!
