A well-loved video game movie is once again popular on Peacock, quickly becoming one of the most-watched films on the streaming service in the US. The animated movie, which earned over $1.3 billion in theaters worldwide, is now beating out other major releases.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie dominates Peacock’s Top 10 Movies List

The animated film The Super Mario Bros. Movie is currently the most popular movie on Peacock in the United States. It’s been number one since February 4, 2026, showing people are still very interested in watching it more than two years after it first came out in theaters, according to data from FlixPatrol.

The movie, directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, came out in U.S. cinemas on April 5, 2023. It’s based on the popular Nintendo video game series and tells the story of Mario and Luigi, two Brooklyn plumbers who unexpectedly find themselves in the magical Mushroom Kingdom. After getting separated, Mario joins forces with Princess Peach, Toad, and Donkey Kong to save Luigi and defeat Bowser, the Koopa King, who is determined to take over the world.

Okay, let me tell you about the voice cast for this new movie – it’s fantastic! Chris Pratt is stepping into the shoes – or should I say, overalls – of Mario, and Anya Taylor-Joy is a lovely Princess Peach. Charlie Day is perfectly cast as Luigi, but honestly, Jack Black steals the show as Bowser – he’s phenomenal. And rounding out the incredible group, we have Keegan-Michael Key as Toad and Seth Rogen bringing Donkey Kong to life. Seriously, the voice acting alone is worth the price of admission!

When The Super Mario Bros. Movie came out, critics were pretty divided – it only got a 59% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on a lot of reviews. But honestly, everyone who saw the movie loved it!
