I first saw Strangers on a Train and was immediately hooked! It’s based on a novel from the 50s, and the story is just brilliantly unsettling – and surprisingly funny as it unfolds. It didn’t get a ton of praise right away, but it really found its audience with thriller fans like me, and now people consider it one of Hitchcock’s absolute best films. It’s a masterpiece, honestly.

The 2021 Mortal Kombat movie featured Lewis Tan as Cole Young, an MMA fighter tasked with saving Earthrealm. However, because Cole wasn’t a character from the original video games, many fans disliked him, feeling he overshadowed the established, beloved characters. The upcoming Mortal Kombat II seems to be correcting this by focusing more on the popular character Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban. While Cole will still appear in the sequel, a quick scene in the latest trailer suggests he’s in for a dark and potentially fatal storyline.

Despite some recent cancellations, there’s still a good amount of Marvel TV content planned for 2026. The series Wonder Man is already available on Disney+, and Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again will be released shortly. Later in the year, Marvel will conclude the story arc started with WandaVision with the premiere of VisionQuest. Plus, the animated side of Marvel is staying active, with new seasons of X-Men ’97 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man scheduled for release in 2026.

Although many fans were upset by its cancellation, Raised by Wolves clearly had a significant impact on the world of streaming television. The series, created by Aaron Guzikowski, was visually stunning, with production quality comparable to major blockbuster films.

Now that Supergirl is coming out on June 26th, the movie’s marketing is in high gear. After the second trailer dropped, DC Studios released individual posters, including one of Matthias Schoenaerts as the villain Krem. The poster shows off Krem’s costume and makeup, and captures his menacing personality – he’s even pictured licking his axe!

Aaron Sorkin’s exceptional screenplay uses dialogue as a powerful tool, demonstrating how a simple argument about a flight log can create incredible suspense.

The anime industry is well aware of this effect. That’s why many modern shows intentionally use visual styles reminiscent of older animation – things like grainy textures, subdued colors, thick lines, and deliberately imperfect drawings. This is done to evoke a feeling of nostalgia, recreating the experience of stumbling upon a hidden gem while watching late-night VHS tapes.

MobLand is a new crime series set in London, focusing on the brutal conflict between two powerful criminal families. Though Tom Hardy plays a key role as the family’s problem-solver, Harry Da Souza, he’s just one of many big names in a stellar cast who fully commit to this intense and violent thriller. While the story follows familiar crime drama themes, the show, created by Ronan Bennett and directed in part by Guy Ritchie, feels fresh and stands out from other shows in the genre.
