After ten years, Paramount+’s run of original Star Trek series has come to a halt. While Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy were the most recent shows, Starfleet Academy was canceled in March, and neither series will return. This marks the first time since 2017 – when Star Trek: Discovery began production – that there are no new Star Trek shows being made or planned.

The comic series Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord continues in issues 3 and 4, revealing the mastermind behind the story. Picking up right after the events of issues 1 and 2, the story follows Maul as he tries to rebuild his criminal empire. He seeks out the Pykes, eliminating their leader to advance his plans.

Brad Winderbaum, a top executive at Marvel Studios, has confirmed that The Watcher made a brief, but intentional, appearance in the Daredevil: Born Again series.

Netflix’s Bloodhounds is quickly becoming a hit around the world, currently ranking among the top 10 most-watched TV shows in numerous countries, according to FlixPatrol. Fans are loving the new season, giving it an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While there aren’t enough critic reviews yet to calculate an overall score, early reviews are all positive. The first season of the show currently holds an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

I was so excited to hear that Prime Video is adding signed versions to even more of its movies! They already had a few, but now 18 more are coming with options for both American Sign Language (ASL) and British Sign Language (BSL). It’s really easy to find them too – you can just go to their accessibility page, search using terms like “ASL” or “Sign Language,” or, if you’re in the U.S., look for the “Accessible Movies and TV” collection right on Prime Video. It’s great that they’re making their content more inclusive!

I have to say, watching Season 11, Episode 4, “The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat,” really reminded me why I love The X-Files. Even after all these years, Mulder and Scully are still at their best! What I especially appreciated was how the episode playfully acknowledged its own history and showed respect for everyone involved – both the creators and us, the fans. It perfectly captured the magic that made the show so popular to begin with, and I think any true fan absolutely needs to see it.

Online fans are getting excited about a claim made on the 4chan message board. Someone posing as a production assistant at Bantam Spectra posted that George R.R. Martin finished writing The Winds of Winter in December 2025 and submitted the complete manuscript in January 2026. The anonymous poster also claims Martin’s recent silence is due to a marketing strategy, with the publisher wanting him to stay out of the public eye.

While Netflix’s Baby Reindeer was a huge hit and will be hard to top, HBO’s new miniseries Half Man looks promising. Set to premiere on April 23, 2026, the show is a collaboration between HBO and the BBC. Jamie Bell and Richard Gadd star in Half Man, with Gadd also writing and creating the series.

Adapting science fiction for television is challenging, but Apple TV has become remarkably good at bringing popular sci-fi novels to life. They’ve successfully created compelling series across a range of genres, from grand space adventures to gripping post-apocalyptic stories.
