The new action film Runner, directed by Scott Waugh (known for his work on Expendables 4, Act of Valor, and Hidden Strike), stars Jack Ritchson and Owen Wilson in a fast-paced story. Ritchson plays a former soldier racing against the clock to deliver a life-saving liver to a sick girl. But they quickly discover they’re not the only ones after the organ – dangerous criminals are also trying to get it to sell illegally. Kristoffer Borgli’s dark comedy, The Drama, from A24 has sparked debate with its uncomfortable and intense themes. Despite mixed reactions, the film currently holds a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating of 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, proving that both the movie and Rachel leave a lasting impression – whether you enjoy them or not.

Milly Alcock may have accidentally revealed a major scene from the upcoming film, due out June 26th. The reveal involves a surprise appearance by a major DC superhero. While fans predicted this character might show up, they didn’t know how or how important the role would be. Thanks to Alcock, we now know the cameo will happen and will be significant.

At the Sony Pictures presentation, it was announced that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be filmed in an expanded 1.43:1 aspect ratio, a format often used for immersive experiences like IMAX 70mm. Producers and writers Phil Lord and Chris Miller introduced the film as the concluding chapter in Miles Morales’ story. A preview shown at CinemaCon, as reported by Variety, continued directly after the ending of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, showing Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) attempting to persuade his alternate self, Miles G. Morales (Jharrel Jerome), to let him return home.

Sony announced at CinemaCon that filming for The Legend of Zelda movie is complete. Although no clips or photos were revealed, this means the movie is now entering the post-production phase. It’s currently scheduled for release on May 7, 2027 (according to IGN).

The biggest news for me was that they officially wrapped filming on The Legend of Zelda movie! It’s been six months in the making, and I, along with everyone at ScreenRant, are super excited to finally see this iconic video game come to life on the big screen.

James Gunn hinted at DC’s television plans for 2027 while responding to a fan on Instagram. When asked about a potential second season of the animated series Creature Commandos, Gunn simply replied, “CC and more yes.” This confirms that Creature Commandos Season 2 is still happening and that DC Studios has other shows planned for release that year. While many fans had hoped Creature Commandos would arrive sooner, the news of more DC content in 2027 is still welcome.

Despite a lot of uneven superhero shows, some truly stand out as complete and nearly flawless stories. These shows, both older classics and newer hits, set a very high standard for everything that comes after. They’re memorable for their deep, thoughtful narratives, exploration of difficult questions, and ability to create a strong emotional connection with viewers, making their fantastical worlds feel surprisingly real.

It’s becoming increasingly common for TV shows to have shorter seasons and longer gaps between them. Severance is a critically acclaimed and popular show, and rightfully so. However, the three-year wait between its first and second seasons definitely impacted how people remember it, and the uncertainty around when season 3 will arrive doesn’t help.

Marvel Studios has officially registered ‘Fragment Productions LLC’ as the company handling production of Black Panther 3. This filing, visible on the SAG-AFTRA website, indicates the movie is now in active development and a 2028 release date is looking more and more probable.
